The "Photodrama of Creation"was a revolutionary combination of moving pictures and slide presentations synchronized with musical recordings and phonograph record talks.
About 8 hours in length, it was presented in four parts. Besides the regular photodrama, a shorter version , the "Eureka Drama" was shown in smaller venues, consisting of either the recorded lectures and musical recordings or the records plus the slides.
The Photodrama premiered in January 1914 at The Temple on West 63rd Street in New York City to an audience of 5000 enthusiastic Bible Students, with many others having to be turned away.
The audience watched in amazement as they saw Pastor Russell (then in his early 60's) appear on a large motion picture screen. His lips began to move and his words could be heard - remember this was the era of silent movies !
As the presentation continued, those in attendance were taken on an incredible journey, by means of words, color pictures and music - from earths creation to the end of Christ's Millennial Reign. During the presentation they also saw (by means of time lapse photography) other things that astounded them - the unfolding of a flower, the hatching of a chick and many other marvels of creation. They were truly impressed !
